About this service
A medication review is an unhurried conversation about everything you take — prescriptions, over-the-counter products, vitamins and supplements. The pharmacist checks how it all fits together and answers your questions.
You leave with a written summary you can keep and share with your other healthcare providers.
Who may benefit
- People taking several medications
- People who have recently had a change to their treatment
- People who have come home from hospital
- Anyone who would like to understand their medications better
What to expect
- 1A booked appointmentSet aside time so the conversation is not rushed.
- 2A full reviewThe pharmacist goes through each item with you.
- 3A written summaryYou take away a record of what was discussed.
What to bring
- All of your current medications, in their original packaging
- Any vitamins or supplements you take
- Your provincial health card, if you have one
Good to know
- Eligibility for a publicly funded review depends on criteria set by the province, not by the pharmacy
- A review does not replace an appointment with your physician
